It seems that 90s fashion is once again making a revival and I couldn’t be more excited. Considering I was born in 1997, I don’t remember much of 90s but what I do know about this wholesome decade is that Popper Trousers were all the rage and now they’re back! I might be a little late to the party but who cares! I’ve discovered the Popper Trousers and I want about 15 pairs (cause who doesn’t love 90s fashion!). Although in the 90s, these trousers had a sportier feel to them, nowadays, the popper trousers I’ve been seeing are more athleisure in style (sporty with a little bit of oomph!)
So how did I decide to style this comeback trend?
I decided to go for the more day/street-style look with my trousers. Since I’m in love with yellow tones, I couldn’t resist this pair that had the contrasting mustard stripe. One thing I love about the popper trousers is the fact that I can undo the sides as high or as low as I want, allowing me to control the amount of thigh action that would be going on!
I paired my popper trousers with another yellow toned blouse. Fun fact, my “blouse” isn’t actually a blouse, it’s a dress that I decided to would go really well with the trousers so I decided to tuck it into the trousers and hope for the best! Lucky for me, it turned out ok. I absolutely adore the two tiered sleeves of this blouse as well as the zip detailing on its front and its lightweight feel.
The fact that I paired quite a sporty trouser with a blouse elevated the whole look and took it from a considerably more casual piece to one that’s more chic and street-style worthy.
I finished my look with one of my favourite sneakers, my Nike Air Pegasus 89 Premiums. If you read one of my previous posts, “The Sneaker Edit”, you’d know that I love the iridescent shimmer these sneakers have along its sides that just adds a bit of glam and a little spark to any outfit it’s paired with. All in all, its black and yellow tones all go hand in hand with the outfit and it just brings everything together nicely!

PS: Although I styled my popper trousers for a more casual look, the best thing about these trousers is that they can definitely be dressed up! Simply add a nice crop top or a sultry bodysuit, a fab pair of heels and open up those slits down the side, you can easily transform your popper trousers from a nice day outfit into a smashing night look.
