I think that it’s safe to say that co-ords are a big thing in fashion at the moment. The latest look on the co-ord scene is the denim co-ord. I’ve legit been seeing this trend everywhere: on Instagram, on the streets and even my mum has her own version of a denim co-ord.
The one thing I love about co-ords (and the thing everyone loves about co-ords) is that you can wear them together to create an out-of-this-world outfit and also wear them separately with different pieces to create a totally new look. The possibilities are endless!
So, I’ve decided to jump on the denim co-ord bandwagon and show you guys my take on this trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

I’ve called this post “DIY Denim Co-ord” simply because the two denim pieces weren’t originally meant to be a co-ord. I bought the skirt and the jacket as separates and decided to pair them up together to give an illusion of a co-ord. I think I did a good job at it and this outfit definitely passes the DIY test.
Everyone has a blue denim jacket but the black denim jacket isn’t as popular as its blue counterpart. I believe that denim jackets are a lifesaver in the fashion world simply because they can be paired up with everything and anything under the sun. Be it a funky graphic tee or a maxi dress, the denim jacket is a stylish way to layer an outfit and make it the more striking.
I especially love this denim jacket due to its simplicity. It is a nice simple piece that’s a great addition to any outfit. I actually bought this jacket a couple of years ago and i’m so glad that I can take it out of my wardrobe a start rocking it again.

I decided to pair my denim jacket with, what I would call, the funkiest graphic t-shirt I’ve ever seen. As soon as I saw this t-shirt in the store, I knew that it must become an addition to my graphic t-shirt collection. I love the fact that this t-shirt combines my love for stripes, the colour yellow and bananas. So, not only are bananas a good source of potassium, they also make a great addition to a t-shirt! This t-shirt definitely brings out more of my playful side and also has me craving a banana split!
To match my black denim jacket and give this look full-on co-ord vibes, I decided to wear a black denim skirt with some contrast stitching. At the moment, I have a massive obsession with mini-skirts and this denim one is not an exception. My favourite aspect of this skirt has got to be the contrast stitching as well as its double D ring belt. These aspects add a new dimension to the classic denim skirt and gives it an amazing upgrade.

To accessorize this whole look, I went with classic accessories. I paired this whole look with my white lace up trainers as well as another classic piece, a gold watch. Adding my large black tote bag to this outfit added another degree of comfort. It’s the perfect accessory that can carry all my essentials. I especially love this particular tote bag because it’s structured and rigid.

And that’s it, my take on the current denim co-ord trend. I’m seriously loving this trend at the moment because it’s so versatile and easy to style. I’m sure that there’s a denim co-ord out there that would suit everyone’s personal style.

Are you a fan of this trend? How would you style a denim co-ord? Let me know in the comments!
